Now that airports are one long line of check ins.endless security procedures and airlines are starting to charge exorbitant luggage fees is it really worth all the hassle to go abroad for holidays?
One high street now looks much like another and what were different cultures with unique traditions now seem to be becoming more and more indistinguishable.
Is it that I'm getting old and cynical that I feel 'Why bother?'

Consider going on holiday for longer peroids of time and going less often, so you dont have to deal with the flying portion of travel as often. If you visit smaller cities and stay for longer you may see more differences than you do in urban areas. More of a relaxing bird-and-people watching holiday than the a whirlwind top 10 sites in each city.

But if you have already traveled extensively out of the country, you may have the "been there done that" syndrome. Now may be a good time to plan some trips in your home country, or go somewhere entirely different.

Why bother - because you can, because it is a change, because it stimulates thinking, because you want to live to the fullest.
