Since I didn't, is there a way I can deduct it from my taxes. Just wondering...thanks.

your employer would have to have maternity leave built into the compensation package. Maternity and Family Leave care act did mandate that employers had to give you 6 weeks off, but it could be unpaid, depending on the employer. You can't deduct it, but you can look for a new job with a company that offers better benefits.

Deduct what? You didn't get paid. That lowered your taxable income. There's your "deduction".

Employer-paid maternity leave is fully taxable.

You didn't get the income - you don't have anything to deduct..

Different employers and different states have different policies on short term disability payments.

these people probably had a policy like aflec witch is a short term disability policy you have to pay for this. no you can't deduct it from your taxes, you already get a child tax credit

the first answer is right you also may have some disabilty on your home owners that you could collect. you can look up tax info on irs web site, and their iseven a number you can call for FREE advice. good luck.
