Mac people are people who cant run a real system to begin with! A Mac aint much more than a Fisher Price toy! I have been in computers most of my life and can tell you that EVERYTHING they say has a logical answer!
1. Apple WAS the first home computer on the market! Why didnt it prevail with its head start?
2. Macs dont get viruses. Simple reasoning! People who write viruses arent out to attack the puny 5 percent of Apple computers on the net! They are out to infest as many systems as they can and dont waste time for the few Macs that are out there! If Apple had a third of the market, there would be a multitude of viruses for it out there!
3. Macs will run anything a PC can! NOT! Go out and look at the softwares available for a PC and then look at the Mac selection!
4. Mac is superior when it comes to graphics! NOT! I run many image applications and they work just as good or better than ANY Mac editing software!

The real kicker here though is Apples latest feeble attempt to corner more of the market! Now they have a system that will run windows! You go buy a new (already overpriced) Mac, a new hard drive, and a copy of WindowsXP, install it on your Mac and you can do all the things on it that you cant do on a Mac! Who would be STUPID enough to buy a Mac, a hard drive, and WinXP for three times as much as a ready to run Windows PC? This simply shows the marketing stupidity at Apple!
The bottom line is a Mac is easy for an IDIOT to run!
Feel free to post this on your bulletin board!

You don't debate with people like that. As a previous answer told you, even if you win, you lose, because argument is what they want. Just remember that more than 80% of the WORLD uses a PC, less than 20% use MAC's. Professionals and businesses use UNIX, so you will always have a job. Which was invented first, Windows or Apple?

If you're truly an IT professional, you don't let the little people get to you.

Point out to them that the latest Mac OS is really BSD with a pretty skin.

I'm a Windows/Unix person (started with VMS in the 1980s and ran early versions of Linux at home while working as a Windows admin), but after installing Vista I've decided that my next computer will be a Mac. Sorry, but it's got the advantages of Unix with a really nice GUI. I can shell out to a terminal and use emacs and gcc and other familiar tools, or I can use the pretty interface to run applications. Vista looks nice, but it's just not working. Between the security and the having to confirm everything and the constant errors and crashing and the applications that won't run, I'm ready to switch.

This is what I like to think of as a religious debate. Don't bother arguing with them, even when you win, you lose.

Just tell them: I know Windows and Unix. You know Mac. Between the two of us, we can handle any issue that comes up with the machines here, isn't that great? See ya!

enable's rule Mac OS X out, because it is commonly unix (it truly is plenty like linux) with fairly pictures. In some thoughts, sure. Linux has more beneficial efficient safe practices than homestead windows, is speedier, very virtually solely runs the international's fastest supercomputers (there are some homestead windows ones, yet they're no longer fairly competing yet, and are arguably purely microsoft-sponsored projects to attempt to make progression in supercomputing). Drivers have a tendency to in trouble-free words artwork once you position in Linux, somewhat of attending to acquire issues on yet another pc to get information superhighway get entry to, then acquire pictures drivers, etc. It has more beneficial efficient filesystems, more beneficial flexibility on the topic of the way it is set up, the way it will be tuned for more beneficial efficient performance, etc. You truly do purely not opt for antivirus for Linux. courses are more straightforward to position in, and bigger solid, because all of them come through one application menu, which has 25000+ programs accessible, all loose (on debian and ubuntu, that is). In some thoughts, no. homestead windows has a nicer record safe practices equipment (ACLs as known, efficient permissions), is a touch slicker in some places. fairly although, it truly is extremely some "specialists" for linux, vs. very few "specialists" for homestead windows. for sure, the different difficulty is that maximum persons use homestead windows, so that you're style of envisioned to have it. Even then although, techniques like WINE and VirtualBox advise you probable can use homestead windows application on Linux. As for the fellow announcing that Linux is in accordance with 30-twelve months old technologies... it truly is real. because it is stood the attempt of time. homestead windows become initially in accordance with a lot more moderen technologies, yet Microsoft have truly been slowly researching the mistakes of their thoughts, and fixing homestead windows through making it artwork more beneficial like Linux -- except that they are nonetheless playing capture-up. Vista become meant to be the real capture-as a lot as Linux in some thoughts, yet Microsoft thoroughly messed it up, and Vista flopped as a effect.
