Sporadic was right on the "somewhere that won't stretch" part - so not your tummy or anywhere thats likely to get fat as you age!!

have a tattoo somewhere discreet - only you need know you have it! it doesn't have to be shown off like a medal all of the time!

the design would be up to you - something that means something to you!!

I would say go for plain black - purely because black doesn't fade like colours do! and are easier to remove should you decide that you don't like it later on in life!

If you do a google.com search for tattoo's, you'll get loads and loads of very cute and sweet tats. I'd go for lower back or shoulder, won't hurt 1/2 as bad there. Tweety bird is cute and looks well as a tattoo, or go for something NOT done a zillion times like cats, dogs, dolphins, etc. Butterflies turn out nice too. Again, do an internet search and look at the millions of designs yourself, you'll be amazed at some of the beautiful ones out there.

It really is down to your own personal preference. there really is no point is asking for other peoples opinions.

Can I suggest buying a tattoo magazine or popping into your local tattoo studio. speak with the tattooist, I'm sure you have some idea's about what you'd like done.

as for location, again it's down to you. You should take into account where you work, or the career path your planning on taking. although tattoos are more acceptable now, they still don't belong in many work places.

I've 11 tattoos, all of which I thought long and hard about. You'll know when you find the right one.

happy hunting!

If you know anyone that can draw very well I would always suggest asking them to design it on your concept - personalising tattoos, I think, is the most meaningful and rewarding, especially since your 16. Many people regret a 'shop-chosen' tattoo describing that they felt they ended up just pointing at one because they were there so long searching and they really wanted one. Can be a disaster! In a nutshell - make it personal, and beware of words! Have fun.

You have to decide this
go to a tat shop check out the work the artist do chest out some designs
Don't go just once go a few times, especial if more than one artist......go to more than one place.........if you see some one with a goo tatt ask where they had it done
If you get a bad tatt your have it for life.
Take your time this is a life comment
Pay attention to color of the artist work you want it vibrant
At 16 you may need a parent release form
One more thing when you get it keep it out of sun .......the sun fades color use high number sunblock if it shows

I think the base of your back and why not design your own tattoo, but being just 16 make sure you think long and hard about having one first because you will have it forever.

if you go to a tattoo shop and tell them kinda what u want they will draw a couple things up for you.... they are artists ya know and they will draw some pretty sweet stuff... just tell em the kinda flower u want and what else u r thinkin and they will do a few designs for u and ask if u like them or if u want little changes... that u know its exactly what u want.... dont look online because u will have something some one else has and that is just pointless to get put on ur skin

Make sure you have a good look around before deciding & stay away from the more cheesy designs that you'll no doubt come across in your more average tattoo parlours.

You'll know yourself when you see the one that you want.

I think that you're going to have to think up your own tattoo, sorry....no one on here is going to know what is "sweet and cute" to you and what may be cute to me may not be cute to you.

16 - you're going to have to get parental consent and not all places will do it still - you need to be 18

future - if you're planning on having kids, I would potentially be cautious of the stomach area because it stretches when you're pregnant. You don't want it to affect your tattoo.

That would all depend on YOU. You have to think about what you want where you want it & what design you want. I believe that a tattoo should be unique to you concidering that you are going to have it for the rest of your natural life.
