No I think she was very stupid and naive. In this society you just cannot mock certain cultures even if you beleieve you are doing it in good humour, this country has become far too PC for that. Ironically Jermaine Jackson called Jade Goody "white trash" which seems to either have been ignored, overlooked or viewed as acceptable. Most people will at one time or another make a comment with no racist, sexist or homophobic intention but which is perceived (by some) in that manner, luckily most of us will not have these faux pas' broadcast to the nation and then being castigated as a result

You can't classify someone as being racist; if they don't even realise that what they're saying is racist in the first place. This is true in the case of Jade Goody; she is dimwitted and knows nothing of various cutural backgrounds, so she therefore has no knowledge of what would offend and what wouldn't offend someone from a different race.
For Jade Goody to be racist, she would have to say something like, "I hate this particular race of people", which isn't the case.
I think its more the case of Jade thinking in simple terms:, "You're different to me, therefore I'm better than you"
It really does get on my nerves though when stupid people from different classes; working and middle class, go on TV and make a fool of themselves. This encourages people from middle classes to generalise people from lower classes as racist; and visa versa. i.e. In the case of Ship Wrecked, with the girl who went to Public School.

At first I thought that she could not possibly be racist as she has black blood in her but after seeing some of the comments she made I now think "Yes" she is. She said some pretty hurtful and nasty things. Things that one can never ever forget if they are directed at you. I do not, however, think its right to make death threats or for her to be threatened in any way. I think she has had her punishment by what t has happened to her in the past weeks and she will never forget that so it is a lesson taught. Would you as Shilpa's parents invite her to your home? I would not. What are they trying to prove ...that they are just as good if not better? This shows that they need to prove themselves to be better than Jade. Why in heavens sake?????? If someone insults you it is better to walk away and ignore it. I was going to use another expression but I think it might be miscontstrued and have no intention of insulting or hurting anyone.

only one of the comments could be deemed racist. she was ignorant and a bully but i don't think her hatred of shilpa was racially motivated. The media hardly bothered with Jo & Daniella and they both made comments that were racist. Jade made mistakes (as we all have) she doesn't deserve death threats

People say things they don't mean when they are angry at someone, just to land a hit. Yeah, what she said was racist but she probably didn't mean it. And the hysterical reaction to it all was appalling.

BTW, being a TV programme it was probably heavily edited to bring out the worst in everyone as well.

No, she was just at the end of her tether (as you would be too if you were cooped up in a small house with several strangers for weeks). She, and the others, deserve nothing of the threats etc. And besides, India really can't talk. Look at their caste system, their rejection of Muslims etc...
