I know alot of muslims around the world don't exactly see the west in the best light right now, and neither does the west with alot of Muslims, but this isn't the case with all Western countries...

I am from Toronto, and in Canada we have a really nice mixed population; I have many muslim friends, and there is never any problems. We joke around sometimes about each other's religion, mine being Christian, but that's because it's never an issue.

I hope muslims around the world know that the U.S. doesn't speak for all of us, sure there was that attempted TTC bombing that was supposibly Al Qaeda funded, but most people have forgotten about that, and even during no one looked at a muslim funny.

What I am tryiing to say is that in the end, we're all the same, so why the hate? You hate someone, and then later you just realize it's a waste of time that you wish you had left.

I hope you don't assume to speak for all Canadians, or diminish the fact that hundreds of Canadians were killed in the 9/11 attacks. I hope you don't wish to tarnish the great humanitarian mission we presently have in Afghanistan fighting Al Qaida, and their Taliban protectors. Our courts will deal with the accused bombers here, a lot of us are looking forward to it. I have Muslim friends too, and neighbours, but that does not make me an apologist for the terrorists.

of course we know. Not every non Muslims hated the Muslims. There are also non Muslims who treated the Muslims good and live next to each other harmoniously. Thank U for being kind to the Muslims. However there are many who ridiculed, insulted, disgraced, belittled and worst of all insulted the Muslims beloved Prophet Muhammad. These are the people who will continue doing his / her irresponsible act to cause the world to look down on the Muslims and at the same time try to influence other to convert to other relogion and leave Islam.

There are good and bad followers in every religion.

In short, Islam is intolerant of false ideas, however it is tolerant of the people who hold to those ideas. One historical example of Muslims living up to the standard of Islam can be found from the time of the Spanish Inquisition. During that disaster sprung by misguided Catholics, some Spanish Jews fled to Muslim Turkey and to this day, there is a community of Spanish-speaking Jews in Turkey. Another example may be found during one of the Crusader invasions from Western Europe. Some of the the Catholic Western European knights were so likely to rape, murder, and pillage the Jews and Orthodox Christians, that when the Muslims won, they were treated as a liberating force by those non-Muslims.

Many nations could learn from our (Canada) compassion, tolerance and love of true freedom (not the strictly poster slogan in the US). It takes so much energy to hate someone or something. One day people will learn that we are all not that different.

PS Bomb plot in Toronto, was nothing more than Al Qaeda wanna be's. But thank goodness for a great police force.

Racism and hate are a mental illness. There is a lot of it in the United States. Unfortunately much of it was encouraged by the President when he said "you are either with us or you are against us."
