I'm having issues with playing video on my computer...?

Ever since I installed Windows Media Player 11 or Logitech Quick Cam I've been having minor problems playing video. It's not that I can't play video, but if I move my mouse over the video, the picture hangs for a second. I have an Athlon XP 2400 with 1GM RAM. My video card is NVidia GeForce2 MX400. Any thoughts on this.

I've also noticed that my hard drive seems to be working at times when it shouldn't be, but spyware scans with AdAware and Spybot don't turn up anything.

Thats what Microsoft updates do to inocent people :(

You should be able to uninstall the update from Add/remove Programs in the Control Panel. I wouldnt update anythign if it works fine.

Later on after 1,000 fix updates for Media Player come out, theeeeeeeen you can update. I wouldnt reccomend updating anythign microsoft puts out right away, it usually buggy. Let all the other people test the water before your computer gets messed up :)

For your first problem go to device manager (right click my computer>properties>hardware tab>devicemanager) and go to your atapi controller section. There right click on Primary IDE channel and uninstall. Do the same with Seconday IDE channel. After restart and you should be good if DMA not set was the problem. With the Hard Drive thing, your Hard drive is running at all times along with alot of background programs and services, just because you here it spool every once in a while by any means does not mean you have a virus. A good example is your pagefile (virtual memory) that is constantly being written/read to and from when your computer is on..

attempt upgrading your sound drivers, in case your using old-shaped drivers you could run into issues like that, in the different case no longer efficient what else to allow you to recognize, also in case your into gaming check out AION its a mmopg that comes out tuesday, gonna blow WOW away
