'Good' fat is what we refer to as fat comprising unsaturated fatty acids. Saturated fat is 'bad'. What also classifies as 'good' is fat comprising essential fatty acids viz. linoleic , and linolenic acids. 'Good' fat in particular belongs to the omega-6 fatty acid family found in Fish Oil viz. docosahexanoic acid. This family prevents heart disease. There is another family called the omega-3 family; it may also be considered as 'Good', although it does not fight heart disease. The examples in this family include Corn Oil, Safflower Oil, etcetera. The best form of oil recommended for preventing heart disease is Canola Oil. The above-mentioned information is in accordance with my current knowledge base of Nutrition. I am a doctor of the order of a general physician as of now. Regards!

From what I can understand good fat is required by your body to keep it running and lubed, like a car.
Bad fat is like greasy old oil, just clogs you right up
