The Hitch Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy also mentions alcohol. It says that the best drink in existence is the Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster.
It says that the effect of a Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster is like having your brains smashed out by a slice of lemon wrapped round a large gold brick.
The Guide also tells you on which planets the best Pan Galactic Gargle Blasters are mixed, how much you can expect to pay for one and what voluntary organizations exist to help you rehabilitate afterwards.

Vodka and tonic, made properly can't be beaten!!
A wedge of lime and a wedge of lemon, crushed into the base of a glass. Add some ice, a double measure of Vodka and fill right to the top with tonic. MmMMmm!!! This suits a classy night out...
Or a nice simple pint of Newcastle Brown!! For an afternoon in the pub in front the fire or watching the footie...
Or for a messy night out, it's got to be shots of Apple Sours or tequila with salt and lemon!! haha!!

This spirit has been round a lot longer than most
