Aptitude is defined as: an individual’s ability to learn or to develop proficiency in an area if provided with appropriate education or training.

Aptitude tests include tests of general academic (scholastic) ability; tests of special abilities (ie, verbal, numerical, mechanical); tests that assess “readiness” for learning; and tests that measure ability and previous learning that are used to predict future performance.

To excel in "aptitude" is a poor way of stating your request. If you are trying to do well on aptitude testing, the best answer is to learn the material. Then ask yourself "why" things happen, or "where" can you go from here? What are the next (logical) steps, based on what you already know? Finally, approach the test in as relaxed a frame of mind as possible, so that stress doesn't use up energy you could put toward obtaining solutions to the questions.

Practice. Solve as many problems as possible with a paper and pencil. Speed and perfection are better achieved through practice.
