On motortrend t.v. or some show.. they showed a '69 Hemi Daytona getting wooped on by a new Honda mini-van on an auto-cross track... of course in a straight line the Daytona is fast as is other Muscle cars.. but 30 years of suspension and brake technology has made vehicles of today out-perform old cars.
Of course, you can modify your late '60s Charger with new performance parts of today to perform any way you want. Stock for stock.. todays 07 Hemi Charger will whip an old 69' Charger in every performance category.

Maybe in a straight line... cars in those days, especially American ones, didn't handle too well.

I've seen the late 60's Chargers quoted from 5.2-5.9 for 0-60 while the BMW M3 is typically quoted as 4.7-5.2. The Corvette c6 is in the mid to low 4's.

It depends on what size engine is in each car.
