We are allowed to eat pork, I quest the question is really do you want to keep your temple in good shape for the Lord. If not eat pork, pork is very bad for a persons body. Actually as meat goes it is one of the worst to eat. I love a ham steak or a little bacon but i have cut back and almost eat none at all now. Only when family comes during the holidays do i even buy any pork.

For the same reason both Moses & Jesus refused to eat it. God commanded Muslims not to eat Swine meet. God also commanded Moses not to eat or even touch the Swine meat as in the following verses in the Bible: LEVITICUS 11:7-8 "and the pig, for though it divides the hoof, thus making a split hoof, it does not chew cud, it is unclean to you. You shall not eat of their flesh nor touch their carcasses; they are unclean to you. "

The pig is the most shameless animal on the face of the earth. It is the only animal that invites its friends to have sex with its mate. ." If you eat filth you have the effect of filth.

Jesus said "it isn't what goes into the mouth which makes the body unclean, but what comes out of it. Food passes through the body and is released as waste, but words come from a person's heart and true self."

That having been said, Jesus never ate pork. Who do Christians emulate? Jesus or Peter?

Yes, I'm a Christian, and I eat pork. Most "restrictions" on diets referred to old Hebrew society and culture and is irrelevant to those who aren't Jewish. You are right in your research. It's just that there was more to it then that.

You are correct in your reading, but the Christian New Testament takes precedent over the Old. I forget the exact passage, but Peter has a vision from God telling him to go and eat because everything God has created is good and eatable. (Maybe in one of Peter's books? or Acts?) Jews and Muslims will normally still follow the rules laid down in Leviticus because they don't honor the NT.
