I mean think of the billions that died in that flood and all those animals. Why is this considered to be such a wonderful and happy story, when it's really about an armageddon?

"It's the Etch-a-Sketch end of the world."

I personally think that the lack of homogeneity in the world completely disproves the Noah's Ark story. No way could so few creatures (including humans) speciate to the extent that they have today in 4000 years.

Oh wait, unless you throw in the escape all arguments card and say "God did it." Cause that's the intelligent answer isn't it?

"Noah's Ark" is pretty creepy. And it is really a weak link in the "biblical Inerrancy" line of thought.

It's cruel, and impractical, and a little weird. If you look at the Y!Answers of the past, you'll find hundreds (i think) of critical questions. Some are pretty funny, but after a while, it is like shooting fish in a barrel.

First of all there werent Billions maybe millions that were wiped out. Who ever said its a happy story. its a lesson that God will wipe out the sinners as many as they may be and preserve the righteous because that is who He loves. Its a strong lesson.

Well, God decided to start all over again, since man proved to be so wicked. The sins of others have killed many innocent creatures along the way, basically. Had it not been for one holy and upright man, the whole human race would have been wiped out. Instead, one humble man had spared us for another chance.

It makes me uncomfortable realising people believe this story at all....I mean the same people that debunk UFOs and Bigfoot pray to a man that rose from the dead (a zombie) over 2000 years ago

yeah hadn't thought of it that way and it was left to all who were placed in the Ark to re-populate the world again as Adam and Eve were supposed to have done.

Uncomfortable. More like incomprehensible. Actually I think it is supposed to be a simile for religious saviour.

none of it makes any sense to me anyway

I don't know why people take a global flood so literally anymore...most theologians accept it as a symbolic story
