The saying is silly. Why love and lose. Why not Its better to have loved. Where is the lost bit? If you love then how can you lose. Because the person is no longer there then surely if it is genuine the love still is. So no lost! What have you lost? You have not lost. As all the people say they are glad they loved. So its not lost its won! or at least gained.!

Yes, it is better to have loved and lost, then not loved at all. And it is worth it too, because they say that there is more fun in the hunt and the case than the killing. U had all the fun and what u lost is marriage, which would anyway have killed the love. U have benefitted both ways, and what u lost is best lost.

yes i do believe that it is better to have loved and lost than to not loved at all. i know it dose sound a load of cods but i firmly believe that fate takes it toll on us and we cant help who we fall in love with but real love is wonderful and am sad for the lost of your loved one but you have your memories your thoughts. Some people go through life not feeling love nor not being loved i think that is sad. my uncle died a few months ago and his partner keeps going by thinking of the wonderful times they had together and when she has a problem she thinks what would he do what would he say we know we haven't got them here to hold but they will all ways be with us everywhere.

Yes it is better to have loved and lost. Although if you have only just lost then the pain is raw and feels much bigger than the time you loved. But time heals and soon perspective kicks in.

I have lost my love. He died suddenly and the pain inside just keeps increasing.
I have to admit I would not have changed how I felt about him despite it being so hard and painful without him. I don't think I will ever feel the same about anyone else.

I used to ask myself this question a lot. I don't know what the answer truely is, but I do think it is better to have loved and lost than to never have loved...even if the lossing causes great pain.
one of my favourite sayings is:
don't cry because it's over, Smile because it happened!

Unfortunately, I have to say yes even though Love causes wars, madness, plagues, and diseases. Its worth the struggle. Its nothing but trouble, but trouble is what we love to get into. And when you are 80 years old and about to die you can think of that wonderful, young lady with fondness. The one who ripped out your heart, stomped on it, and set it aflame. Horrible, horrible love. How it loves to rear its ugly head.
Ah, memories.
