What is the effect of temperature on membrane permeability using beetroot tissue?

Set up your water baths at various temperatures.

Add pieces of intact uncut beetroot.

Watch to see if the coloring leaks out of the beetroot. You should expect that at higher temperatures the membranes will break down and release pigment.
