Well, I have 4 feral cats that moved into the garage and 2 are males and 2 are females.. OUR local pound will not come to pick them up so... they just decided to stay around here with us. I am supposing they are around 6 months old (?) they were very small when I first noticed them..

So to answer your question.. YES they can live together but I still have to learn what happens when one of the females goes into season... ??? Could be a head shaker

haha, this sounds exactly like my mother-in-laws mini dachsund and cat. Their cat is quite large for a cat and I dont mean fat in any way just a big male. The mini dachsund is half his size. The dog will playfully bite and nip at the cat and the cat will bat him back. The cat is clearly annoyed but has a very calm personality so he doesnt harm the dog. Until the dog goes to far and the cat will hold him down and give a warning bite at the back of the neck. The dog does yelp but when we check there is no broken skin, there is no signs afterwards of pain. And of course 5 seconds later the dog is back. The dog has even learned a few tricks of how not to get his neck bitten. He will nip at the cat and then turn around so that his back end is in the cats face :) Anyway, as long as there is no actual injuries done I would let it go. The baby will grows stronger and eventually be able to get out of the grip of the bigger one. The older one is probably just using more strength than she understands is necessary. So for now if the baby cries pull them apart. When they get older they can take care of themselves. Its just like two rough housing children. It occassionally goes to far.

Well I have a 13 year old male a 2 year old female and a 10 month old male. My oldest cats reaction was exactly the same when both the others were brought in to our home. And the female was exactly the same when we brought the kitten home. Neither of them liked it at all! But we fussed them and gave them plenty of attention and encouraged them to like each other. The female took the longest to come round but now you couldn't separate them if you tried. Took about 10 days for them to settle in.

I dont think you should have any problems at all. They are both very young. Just introduce them when you know you have a full day to watch them and interact with both of them. If you can, see if the rescue will let you take the cat home for a trial period and if for some odd reason the older of the two decides to get nasty then you can take him back for a more suitable home.

Good luck!

Hi - first up, why have another cat? Kittens need SO much attention, I know because I have 2 girls (sisters) and theyve driven me to distraction over the last year. Personally, Id stick with just the little boy. But if you really must get another cat, speak to your vet first and get their opinion on mixing a 5 and 18 month pair. Good luck

There is no way to know if they'll get on.
A couple of thing's you could try are
If possible get something that belong's to the older cat (blanket or soft toy) & rub the new cat with it.Then give it back a day or two before bringing the new one home.
On the day you bring him home. With a damp clothe wipe around
older cats face.then wipe that on the young one's face & body.
You could try sprinkling a small amount of catnip on the young one just before taking it in. Good luck!

Depending on the personality of each cat will determine their adaptability to one any other. They have so many different temperaments from breed to breed even cat to cat. My sister has 2 from the same litter. Sugar is extremely shy, her brother Big Boy will run up to anyone for petting. Patience & time will tell. Give them a chance to "meet & greet" on their terms, just back off unless one is getting hurt too bad. It's normal for one to establish who is the "pack leader" & others take "orders" from him. Good luck. Thanks for being so warm hearted to such gentle creatures.

yes you could, just introduce them gradually and make sure you give the older cat the same if not more attention in the beginning, and play with them both the same.

yes. they migt be fine. if u spend to much time with the kitten it might not want to share its owner, so gratually get them to meet but dont leave them on their own together.
