When probably no real attractive women would date a guy who was fat, or a guy who never brushed his teeth. Why do women lie like appearance isn't super important? Please. Stop perpotrating.

Men care about looks because they are usually looking for sex, a one night stand. Women don't care about looks because they are usually looking for a lasting relationship, probably marriage.
If you only want a physical connection, then you look for top-notch physical attributes, i.e. a sexy guy/girl. If you're looking for someone to marry, then you (should) know that looks won't last a lifetime whereas intelligence, kindness and understanding will. And a healthy bank account, while it may not last forever, will give you a good start.
Plus, when women say they don't care about looks, it doesn't mean that they are looking for ugly people; it just means they don't expect their boyfriends to look like George Clooney. I would think that any normal person would expect their partner to brush their teeth -- that's not a gauge for attractiveness, that's just yucky, not to mention unhealthy.
All that said and done, all women aren't the same, you know. There are tons of women who say that looks are important to them!

At first yes... Down the road, no...here's why. A man has the ability to walk up to a complete female stranger and be willing to have sex with her right then and there. However, social norms restricts him from doing so, not to mention female resistance. But what does this tell us? It tells us that a man can tell a potential mate based off looks alone. If we dig deeper, it tells us that a woman's beauty and body symmetry is an indicator of her evolutionary replication value (good genes!). Men weigh looks and beauty heavily, while women weigh other things that I won't go into right now... Now, if he were to just have sex with her and walk away, looks alone would be fine. However, if he would start a relationship with her, then personality begins to play a part. If a girl is hot but annoying and not very intelligent, then the man will not want to be around her very long and thus start a relationship. This is why you see a lot of pretty pretty girls who can't hold a man down. They worked very hard on their beauty and style, but nothing on their personality. They get a lot of ***, but they can't ever have a serious relationship because they have nothing to offer intellectually.

Wanting someone to appreciate health and hygiene is hardly being superficial...
Have you never noticed how the most physically attractive people, men or women, usually have the ugliest personalities? What a person is like is more important than looks, but if there isn't a spark of attraction as well, it just won't work.

Probably one of the main reasons is because you may marry a real good looking guy and in 20 or more years, you OR him, aren't what you used to be. Does that mean you'll divorce him---no. Deep, warm feelings are alot more important than looks, but people always seem to look on the outside of people instead of the inside.

well are you not "perpotrating" not all woman say that and what do YOU class "real attractive women". seems you have some judgements of your own. Some people can see past somebodies appearance and see the character of a person that they admire or dislike, I think that is human and not restricted to the females of this species

I like thicker guys. Big & tall. Your so wrong. I'd want him to brush his teeth and hope he would but I don't see myself saying "Well, I could not date him. Did you know he did not brush his teeth?" to my friend. How would anyone know about your teeth at first? If your are dirty then brush them before you go out.

looks create a snmall proportion of a relationship.Women think aboout the long run and the future.When they meet someone they ask themselves"is this someone i would like to be seen with?can my friends tolerate this guy?" and many more insightful thoughts.
I once dated a drop dead gorgeous guy who thought his looks were everything.He might have planned to kill me with his boredom but i ditched him before it happened.If we need a fly person we can always hung out with our girlfriends , but when we want to date we need a gentleman

. I look at it like, you might meet a guy who look good or female but have bad attitude that make them look ugly.are they stuck on them self. some people don't date guy with a big or think they to cute. than you have some female who date guy who look ok because they think they will treat them better than guy who think they are fine as wine, it go both way sometime.

what about the late anna nicole smith..if the bloke is rich and ugly then he will easy pick up atractive girls. or if he is well endowed downstairs then thats a plus as well even if he is a minger. but mostly if you are good looking or not ,,money is the thing girls look for. not looks.

but a woman who is up for real love looks would be number 5 on her profile but if it is for adventure then looks are the 1st thing they look for
