Wouldn't it be ironic if Rangers -under new manager Walter Smith-are knocked out of Europe by Tel Aviv , after the 'unsuccesful' Paul Le Guen getting them this far.

Le Guen's record with Rangers in Europe seems to have been forgotten somewhere along the line.

Every one claims PLG was great in Europe but we struggled most of the time. Molde could have put us out, and if it wasnt for McGreggor they would have done. In the group, we didnt really get a good team. Macabi Haifa where poor, livorno r a poor italian team, auxerre wernt great and patizan belgrade arent a big team. But we got through so he got the credit.

However, european football means nothing if u cant do it domestically. if PLG had stayed, we would struggle to make europe next year, so it wouldnt matter how good we wer in it this year.

You forget that Walter took Rangers to the Champions League semi final and was unlucky not to make the Final. But dream on because Rangers will come through this hurdle and we will have the next Euro tie to look forward to. And you?
