That is: do people in the Bush Administration act like Jesus would? I think this is an important question to ask.

No. Jesus was more like a socialist than a Republican which is why it amuses me so much that there is a "religious right" at all. The Republican party concerns itself with tax breaks for the wealthy, not alms for the poor or providing for the blue collar working class. Didn't Jesus also say something about turning the other cheek and loving thy neighbor?

I'm an atheist, but this amuses me to no end. Frankly, I think the redneck south gets what it deserves when the vote in idiots like Bush and his cronies. When the rich make off with their paychecks and send their kids off to die in piss poor third world countries that have nothing to do with American domestic security interests (sorry guys, Iraq never threated my freedom or security)...they can ask themselves what party is really in line with Jesus' message.

Reality check, please?

My medical documents aren't from now on deepest - the U. S. authorities can accesss and settle on no matter if i'm "in probability" for being a terrorist. My library playing cards aren't from now on purely between me and the library. the U. S. authorities has get entry to to them as well. they have get entry to to my bank account and to any guidance i'd have obtainable for club memberships, books i purchase and the church i'm a member (or no longer a member of). examine the 2001 US (Un) Patriot Act sometime. it is going to marvel you with what freedoms you assert you do not imagine you've that were taken removed from you through the evil chimp and all his cohorts! in case you imagine he's not evil .... imagine lower back! in case you do not recognize what rights you're certain through the U. S. structure - commence memorizing it as well! they can't take from you in case you imagine you do not have any rights! worry is, all of us HAVE RIGHTS that extremely some human beings shed blood for us to have. What provides the chimp the right to in trouble-free words take our very worry-free freedoms away and factors each and every of the excuse, "it is because of terrorism".

No offense to Muslims, but they act more like Muhammad did. Pre-emptive war was one of his things. There are, however elements of both Christian and Islamic ethical systems that I would support. As an atheist, I have no special desire for any body to act like Jesus, who was a theist, did. I would prefer an administration to be secular humanist atheist.

Bush may have a messianic complex, but he's just a dry alcoholic and ex-cocaine abuser using Jesus to stay sober. If it weren't for his father, he wouldn't have been elected dog catcher. Karl Rove made this dolt president, along with some highly cooperative Supreme Court Justices.
I have the feeling if Jesus came face to face with W, he'd probably punch his lights out for abusing his name.

Quite the opposite. I can't believe Bush calls himself a christian. When will americans wake up and see that we have been sold out to the highest bidder.
