Home remedies for Toothache relief are in such abundance that we will only mention a few of the more popular remedies. But before we do, it should be mentioned that Toothache relief means that these home remedies are only for temporary relief of pain until you can get to your dentist for a more permanent fix.

The bark of a butternut tree was used by the Native Indian for Toothache relief. Make sure to clean off all the ants and termites before applying to gums and it might also be a good idea to ask your dentist before using this method.

Apple juice, figs and raisin, supposedly you grind them all up in a blender for a scrumptious drink. Oops, sorry this is for constipation.

Saltwater mouthwash

A gentle massage on the gums is believed to be helpful because the nerves can only carry one sensation at a time. Wash hand first before massaging.

Cloves

Ground pepper

Coke syrup; don’t know where you’re going to get this at.

Taking one or two aspirin every three or four hours should relieve the pain. But you shouldn’t put aspirin directly on your gums because you might get aspirin burns and not only that but it taste awful.

And last but certainly not least whiskey on the gums is said to be good for Toothache relief for teething babies and for adult. For adults however, swallowing is optional.

A toothache is caused by an infection in the tooth called an abscess. Left untreated it can cause swelling and the bone around the tooth to be eaten away, causing the tooth to also become mobile. I have seen swelling cause an eye to close due to the puffiness in the face and the sinuses could be affected as well, but have never heard of or seen some one complain of blurred vision. Yes, you could also acquire an ear ache because of an infected tooth. Get that tooth extracted or root canaled it will not get better on it's own and you could end up with more problems than just that tooth.

First of all have her brush her teeth because there could be a particle of food caught in there. Then have her rinse her mouth out with the very warmest salted water she can stand. Then apply a hot water bottle or hot pack of some kind...heating pad; and if she can lay with her face on the heat that little bit of pressure will help to ease the pain. I've done this many times and it always works. I'll pray for her pain to be eased. I know she can't wait to get to the dentist in the morning.

What she needs to do is get that exposed root taken care of. All the pills in the world is not going to help this nerve. Good thing is it will die on it's own. If that is it is only a tooth ache. My mouth hurts with the onset of a migraine headache.

Have her gargle, and floss her teeth. Maybe there is something there that is pressed against that nerve ending? She might just have to wait for it to die on it's own. Painful I know!!

Wish your mother well...have her go see the dentist.

thats is some of the worse pain that someone can have. sounds like an abcess in the tooth. other than pain medcation she could try a warm heating pad ( not hot ) warmth sometimes equals comfort. definitly try the warm mouth rinse and maybe some ambesol or other over the counter topical oral pain reliever until she can make it to the dentist.

If your mother is in good health, (other than the tooth ache) go buy her some ALEVE aspirin, take two and the pain will go away, works better than Tylenol helped me when i got my teeth knocked out in a car accident!!!

PS she can also try rinsing her mouth out with warm water and Listerine several times...

CHECK OTC PRODUCTS AT YOUR DRUGSTORE!

See DENTIST ASAP!

Toothaches are a sign that there may be more to worry about then just a little pain. The causes of toothache are several but the major causes are, dental cavity, a cracked tooth, exposed tooth root, gum disease, disease of the jaw joint or spasms of the muscles used for chewing. It is possible for the cause of a toothache to originate from an entirely different problem such as heart attack or angina but this is quite rare. It can be noted however that some patients suffering angina will show toothache or jaw pain as the only symptoms so it is always best to let your dentist or doctor evaluate you.
