I have spoken to many people who are not muslim & they admit that Prophet Muhammed (saw) was a man of good character but they refuse to believe or accept Islam because they say that the Prophet (saw) married a 9 year old girl - Ayesha (RA). So basically people are reluctant to believe because they have been misinformed.

People are taking thier information from a misinterpreted Hadith,it is sad that people believe it -The Prophet (saw) was a man of integrity, honesty, generosity & purity -he had a character that was so good even people that didnot believe in Islam trusted him with thier possesions-he was known as the truthful by non muslims.

Ayesha (RA) was between the ages 16-20 when she married Muhammed(saw)
•According to all the historians Asma (ra), the elder sister of Ayesha (ra) was 10 yrs older than Ayesha(ra),If Asma(ra) was 27 or28 years old at the time of hijrah, Ayesha(ra) should have been 17 or18 yrs old at that time

Summer, Please do not worry about the response that you are getting from the Jaahils below, As long as you believe in your heart that he was a good man and was sent as a mercy unto mankind you are correct and people are brainwashed by the propoganda that is being spread about our dear Prophet Muhammed (S.A.W).

And the point is??
The story could be true and still be OK. Women in historic times have been betrothed and married at very early age sometimes even at birth. Most girls were married by 13. By 15 they've already had a child. Before the woman menstruated there was no reason to consummate the marriage.Customs were simply much different than today. Sex was mostly done in public. I do not mean the town square but at home in front of servants or the kids. They main problem here and the source of the bias is not in the act itself but our interpretation of customs from our perspective. If you lived back then you would have no problem with it. From there perspective we must look absolutely weird.

I don't think thats the reason anybody is not Muslim. They continually quote it just to "get at" Islam. Its more or less trolling. People may well pretend that that is the reason - but it must be VERY rare for it to be so.
