The Canadian lung assoc. studies ,clearly show an association between inhalation of carcinogen's(highly prevalent in diesel fuel,its fumes and combustion) with cancer,especially of the lungs and liver.

Diesel fumes don't contain the lethel amounts of Carbon Monoxide that Gas fumes do. Lock yourself in a air tight room with your honda civic pumping fumes into it. I'll do the same with my Cummins. We'll see who dies faster.

Well if you are so worried about it then maybe you should get off of your computer because in its production, transportaion, or other parts of its life it was transported by a diesel vehical. Also, I would drive a diesel for the reason of power. I can sit in traffic without worrying about it over heating. Sure diesel is more expencive than gas, why i dont know, but it is. I still purchase it all the time. I will add some bio diesel, usuallu burn b20 because it adds to the fuel economy of the truck. The diesel gets better milage than a gas engine anways, so if you use more gas than it is bad for the world as well. If you really want to get technical maybe you should kill all the livestock in the world, because they are the leading producers of methane gas in the world. But i dont seeing anyone going all off on the cows making then stop passing gas. I guess that is what canada is spending all there money on, researching that diesel vehicals can cause cancer if you inhale the fumes all day long out of a truck that is 50 years old.

It's all to do with money i guess, Charging tax on cigs to make money, and save money from NHS (Uk) if less people goto hospital due to diseases from smoking.. Im not entirely sure - sorry for the shitty answer. Also diesel is more useful i guess, used in freighty ships (trade), which generates more money for the country xD

yeah well never seen a person stick the tail pipe of a diesel in there mouth and suck on it for a few min. how long in a person lifetime will they be around a diesel comapred to a perosn being around smokers? bet the smokers would win in that one. its just people trying to justify smoking. FYI everything in the world is bad for you in one way or the other.

Diesel fueled vehicles are more efficient now than they were a few years ago, and emit fewer pollutants; the pollutants are not nearly as toxic as cigarette smoke. Diesel fuel will see increasing use because of the high efficiency of Diesel engines.
