I have a 2 year old spayed boxer and all of a sudden she started having what i would describe as abdominal contractions, meaning she was thightening her stomach and stretching her legs at the same time every 5 sec. We also noticed she was tucking her tail, which is weird, we even call her scorpio" because it was always up.

That was yesterday, today we took her to the vet and he said she might have eaten something that made her sick, she was given 3 shots: for parasites, pain and one was a mix of vitamins-
As of right now im still worried because she is keeping her tail tucked and at moments she sits and bites it or tries to lick it, and i tried to check it out but she wouldn't let me, as soon as i touch it she turns around rapidly and takes off my hand with her mouth.

Has this ever happened to anyone? What is your guess? I dont know about the vet, he doesnt seem to know what it is.
Of course if she doesnt seem better as of tomorrow i will take her to another vet...

Definitely sounds like she is uncomfortable, but its hard to say where. I would have a vet take some abdominal x-rays to make sure she hasnt ingested something she shouldnt and that there is no injuries. Its also possible she sprained her tail, but I wouldnt expect the cramping and stretching if it were only that.

If the vet did a really good check and didn't find anything wrong with the tail or anal area it may be that she just has a virus. But keep a very close eye on her and be sure to take her back in if she isn't improving, and fast.

If they react bad to having the tail touched I'd suspect the anal gland may be impacted, that can cause them a lot of discomfort and lead to some odd behavior. Also if she had tail injured, like caught in door or stepped on it could make it pretty tender.

If she continues to act like she is cramping take notice of if she is having runny stools, and not bad idea to take stool sample in if it seems unusual. They can get constipated, watch for that. Also watch that she is urinating ok, not just squatting and nothing coming out. A urinary tract infection or crystals in the urin can cause lots of discomfort too.

Perhaps her anal gland has ruptured (glands under the skin on either side of her anus.
IS there a foul fishy smell or brownish black or red discharge? If so take her to vet as she needs it cleaned up and antibiotics. They may not have ruptured yet but maybe about to and its really painful and they sit on their butts in a strange fashion and are obsessed with it.
