This is so bad for people. If you are constantly killing bacteria than you will never build up an immune system. Its the same reason you don't bathe a newborn every day. If these people have young children they are setting them up for a lifetime of illness.

I know someone who calls themselves a germ freak and says that they can't do or touch certain things but I think it's all a show. At home she won't sit on the settee after certain people have sat there and if someone else uses the toilet she will disinfect the seat before sitting on it herself. The thing is though, she managed to go into hospital and have her baby and didn't feel it necessary to do a scrub of the room first and she isn't exactly germ friendly when it come to making sure everything is clean around her baby. I think some people need to still do the attention seeking bit.

well, i don't meann to get others sick . everyone gets me sick all the time at school. i instead bring vapor rub to school and a box of kleenex in my tote during the flu season. i dont blame anyone because my school have tons of work and if you miss a day ur grade is an F . if she really sick that she should be in the hospital , that is a different situation. you should talk to her parent, donnt exactly tell them their kids is spreading germs but tell them their kids look kinda sick and maybe offer them some advice or hand sanitzer ? everyone gets them , if they were to stay home everytime they might as will be home school. you cant stop the change in weather. i suggest making some drinks that raise the immune fighting system i shouldnt be the one that's talking anyway, i'm not a mom. this is from a 14 years old point of view. EDIT: OOPp.. my bad . i didnt read the whole question . i thought you were talking about kids at school

Hmm...I've been on both ends of the spectrum and I must say that I get sick the same now as when I was a germ freak. What got me outta of the "gotta be clean" all the time mode was having a child. lol And I was only a "germ freak" for a few years while working with the public because they are just NASTY sometimes and I saw the worst of it!

There is something people don't realize: soap and cleanliness is a concept that is just over 100 years old! Our bodies need to ingest germs. By being exposed to so many germs our body gets used to them and when a weak flu or virus comes around it doesn't affect our bodies. By disinfecting everything obsessively we are actually harming ourselves more than anything else.

yup...it's been proven that those antibacterial soaps and hand sanitizers cause your immune system to be lowered due to the germs mutating because they've become immune to those sanitizers....so rather than just catching the common cold germ you get it's meanie cousin that doesn't care what you slap on it!
