a water pistol will do the job - short sharp spray a few times and the cat won't be back - i used that method to stop my cats scratching furnature and it worked a treat.

Cover the car with aluminum foil, cats hate stepping on that.
Otherwise you will have to try using smells the cat doesn't like to discourage it from going near your car. Tiger droppings work but can be hard to get.

put lemon skins and orange skins under the window wipers ( not on the paint work !)

Walk up to the cat one morning, preferably if it is still on your car bonnet, and ask nicely. Would you please stop laying your furry self on my bonnet as I'm looking to get a new car and if i find your ****ing hairy **** on my new car I'm gonna rip you a new arsehole!!.
Give it a go, It might work?
:D

Sprinkle it with some cayenne pepper. One whiff and the cat won't go near it.

Spray it with water, be it from a hose or a small spray bottle...it will teach it to stay away.
