I'm sure I heard someone talk about this one time, but I don't remember the website.

I know I'm white, thanks. As for asking my parents, I was adopted as a baby and don't have contact with my bio folks. I also do not have access to the adoption records.

Lynda,

Honestly, if you are trying to find out your nationality for certain, I don't think that uploading a picture to a website will tell you. Facial features can give an indication to what part of the world your ancestors were from, but it won't be able to pinpoint exactly. For instance, people in the European countries have similar traits but pinpointing the exact country can be difficult. Think about it this way. Can you tell by looking at someone whether they are from Illinois or from Michigan?

On the other hand there are DNA tests that you can take for about $100.00 that can give you a better idea, but even so the test will only focus in on one line per test which can reack up to some serious buck$!

I would check the laws about adoption in your state. Have you gotten the non-identifying information about your birth parents? The non identifying information will in most cases make mention of your bio moms heritage and if possible the birth fathers. Most states will provide you that when you come of age. The state of Oregon even has a law that you can request your original birth certificate when you are of age. I would research the adaoption laws in the area you were adopted in and go from there.

Good luck sweetie and I hope you find what you are looking for.

Nationality and ethnicity aren't the same thing. A computer analysis of your picture can't tell you about your nationality, but about your ethnicity (I'd guess) by associating certain physical traits with those of people from a certain geographical region. Your relatives may or may not have come from there, or may have moved away, in which case your nationality would be different.

Your question reminded me of that "Which celebrity do I look like ?" photo recognition thing which went round a while ago, so I found this site.

Maybe it'll be of use to you. Good luck !

While it may be possible to determine your ethnicity with some accuracy (and even then not certain) from a photograph, your nationality cannot be determined this way. Best way to find out is to ask your parents...

I'm sure that DNA analysis is the only way to truly find out your ethnic heritage. Many companies offer such services.
