Is there a way to make an in-home fire alarm go off without actually starting a fire? (To get a boy.)?

My brother always has his friends over, including his friend Seth. Now I've taken a liking to Seth a lot. He's 1 year, 7 months, and 4 days younger than me, and he's kind of shy around me sometimes. I've been using every excuse to touch him and I dress provocative around him but... Just conversation. Really deep convos, though. He's like the sweetest and funniest guy ever. Always has the right thing to say. Still he won't ask me out.

However recently... I've been acting really depressed and have been bursting into tears. I'm just faking it to make him feel sorry for me (he doesn't know that) and he'll automatically hug me or hold me so there's got to be some spark there. So my plan

1. My bro & all his friends (including Seth) sleep shirtless
2. I make the fire alarm go off
3. We all rush outside
4. I act all upset and start rubbing up on Shirtless Seth innocently ;)
5. I just happen to be wearing 1 of my bro's wifebeaters & NO bra
6. Seth likes the feeling and asks me out

Keep in mind I can't just ask him out because Seth is a WHITE BOY and even though my parents have no problem with him in the house if I'd ask him out they would FREAK.

But if he asked me out I could keep it on the D-L and if mom & dad found out I'd just say that he asked me out and I was only doing it to be nice because I felt sorry for him or something.

Anyway, my only problem is how do I make the fire alarm go off all discreet?

Sounds sad and pathetic. Not only are you going through a lot of crap to get this guy to notice you but you come off sounding like a S**t. Have you considered the fact that he just may not be that into you? More importantly have you thought about your brother-maybe he doesn't want all of his friends to think his sister is a h**. If none of that concerns you, stop being an baby and just tell him you like him. Even if he doesn't like you at least he won't think you're a manic depressive psychopath wh**e anymore. I really think you're going about this the wrong way. You're basically attempting to set up a fantasy situation. Now, the thing about fantasy situations is, they rarely turn out as expected.

First, you haven't mentioned whether Seth is available or not. If he's as great a guy as you describe him, perhaps he's already in a committed relationship, and wouldn't consider leaving his partner. Which means that you may still have a chance, if his current relationship doesn't work out.

It is possible that he just isn't interested in you. That doesn't mean it should reflect poorly on who you are, it just means he doesn't feel you would be compatible with him.

I hate to bring up racial issues, but you brought them up first, so...
In a perfect world, the color of one's skin shouldn't matter. The fact that your parents would be so opposed to an interracial relationship makes me wonder if perhaps he has picked up the same message from them? Perhaps he is as worried about your parents' reaction (or his own) as you are.

I know a lot of guys who say they won't date someone that was "slutty" - not saying you are, but your methods of attracting Seth have been quite direct. Has he had a chance yet, to get to know you better as a person? It might work better if you start by striking up a friendship with him first. That way, he'll start seeing reasons why he'd be attracted to you, reasons that carry more substance than just being physically attractive. Reasons that are more meaningful and fulfilling anyway!

Have you actually considered what your plan would entail? Pulling the fire alarm means everyone runs out in their PJ's, and while you might expect him to come out shirtless and sexy, he may grab a shirt anyway. It can often get cold at night, remember, even when it's been a scorcher in the day! Not to mention that not only will your brother and his friends be out there with you, but so will your parents - and is this something you really want them seeing?

Ultimately, if it doesn't work out, then there's no point in persisting too long - you'll just wind up putting him off, and possibly spoiling any further chance you might have anyway. One of the best tricks for attracting guys, believe it or not, is to make yourself unavailable to him. Date someone else! You might find you like Seth better still, or you may find a new love. But if Seth is attracted to you even a little, once he thinks he's "missed his chance" he's going to want you even more!

The main problem is that when fire alarms go off people take it seriously. If the fire department is called for a false alarm your family could be subject to fines and even criminal charges.
If you want to go out with Seth, by far the safer way is to ask him.

Now, as for your methods... If the things you have tried so far haven't worked, I can't see any chance that THIS PLAN is going to be any different. A nickels worth of advice... STOP dressing provocative and STOP acting depressed. Guys are far more attacted to someone who is upbeat, funny, and shows respect for themselves. If it was meant to be, he'll come around, if he doesn't. Try asking him out, your parent's don't have to know you asked him.

There is a tester button on the fire alarm, but you have to keep it pressed in. That being said you are going way too far for this (if it works it's a good story though). Just ask him out and tell your parents he asked. Or just say you're hungry and get something to eat with him.

Thats a real bad idea. Do you realize if it goes off and the fire department is called that someone could be seriously hurt in the rush to get to your house? You could end up facing criminal charges.

Also quit faking things. If a guy finds out your faking to get his attention he wont respect your real emotions. Read the boy who cried wolf.

You can make a smoke alarm go off with steam. My steam iron sets my smoke alarm all the time.
