actually st. valentines day is an ancient pagan holiday that has been Christianized by the catholic church during the end of Rome.

as a born again christian you should seek out knowledge for yourself. and test that knowledge against the bible.

If you do that you will find that your pastors boasting is not christian. and you will find that valentines day at it root is sinful and carnal lust and sex.

don't take my word for it, look it up yourself.

God Bless you.

I just try and treat it like another day,and be happy for those who do have someone to share it with.If you have a group of single friends, you could all get together on that day and do something, like a movie.
As for your pastor,I hope that he remembrs to keep his priorities straight.
Have a good day :)

Worshipping Jesus and expressing your love to Him and you sense His presence with you. We are all to be grounded and rooted in the love of God and not in the love of other people. When we experienced the fullness of God's love in our lives we can offer His agape love (an unconditional and giving love) to others. God's command to New Testament Christians is that we love others AS HE HAS LOVED US, the Godly way. Then when people love us it is something that we enjoy and not craving for it as a necessity. Because our need for love is fully fulfilled by the love of God. I pray that you enjoy God's love as your sufficiency as you wait upon Him to find you His chosen mate for you. Amen.
