I would like to place a black four-cornered mosquito net canopy over my bed to give my room more sensuality (plus I am more relaxed in a darker space). Would this be bad? Also...what color should my comforter be? I have several colors in my room including a deep purple wall, deep reds, deep orange, jade/sage green, and teal blue. My current comforter is neutral, which bothers me. Thanks!

The comforter has to go. It throws the balance of the vibrantly muted colors off. Nuetral is not what you want. Go with a green or a lighter red, to play off the positive chi of the eccentric palette that already exists. You can go with the netting for the relaxing properties, but this allows for bad energy to become trapped within the net while you sleep. Your bed should face east to compensate for the darkness with the rising sun, which prevents spirits from becoming permanently occupied and disturbing your sleep. Never underestimate the healing properties of the sun. Also, If you live in a frequently rainy area, the net is ill advised alltogether, as blockage of the sun for more than 4 or five days allows bad chi to build up. If you still want the net, but are expecting blockage of the sun, remove it on the 3rd day of dreary weather, just to be safe, to allow your sleeping area to clear. Also, open a window, one on the south or west of the house, for the bad energy to dissipate.

Even if you like dark colors, there is such a thing as too much of a good thing. The black mosquito net canopy will definitely darken and "enclose" the room, especially with the deep purple wall. You are using vibrant colors (orange, red, green, blue) which is a good start.

Here's the challenge. If you go with a very dark color, the whole room will look dark. If you go with a light color comforter, then it will look weird against all that dark stuff. So I say try this: pick a warm, vibrant but relatively neutral color like a rich brown, the color of wet earth. BUT have something bright in the room, and have it NOT be a fabric. A painting with lighter colors can add light the way a window does, for instance, especially if well lit, even if you use "warm" colored lights (I'd advise using a whiter or bluer color of light). Or pick a tall glass vase and put it on a side table against one of your dark walls with a single white orchid in it. The white will set off against the room, will still add sensuality, and some softer, natural texture, so it doesn't look clinical.

Would have to see the room to offer more advice, and I am sure others might disagree.

mosquito net - no problem, go put it.
color of comforter - any color you like! again fengshui is not about colors.
there is no kua#5, if you're a male, it's 2; and female you're an 8, both of which having a bedroom which faces north is bad (worst for the male) based on 8 mansions. having the bed on the west is no problem.

You also have to say which direction your room is and which direction your bed faces,
