No that is something the children make up ...parents love their children. Parents that don't love one within their heart really don't love anyone. It may seem that way to the kids but what is usually going on is something that isn't healthy and every situation is different isn't it? How many kids have stolen from their parents and expected immediate trust followed by the "you love ___ more than me." which is a guilt trip.

Parents LOVE all their children equally but they may LIKE one more than the other. Especially if the child is the youngest or newest arrival. But when the kids become older or into teens and adulthood, there isn't really an unequal balance unless something drastic happened.

yes i do think so. my former teacher said that favoritism is part of life. it's just how you handle it that makes the difference. i mean how the parents show it. though i think it is possible for parents to love their children equally while having a favorite.

it's really not good to have favorites but well, it's really part of life.

90% of the parents have favorite,, but if u tell them the parents would say i dont have any favorite coz u all ir u two is both my kids and i love u both no more or less..but the way they treat u you mostly can see and feel it. i know that kind coz i have been talking that kind with my friend coz her mother love her brother more than her and i really can see it her mom get more angry if she said i know u love my brother more than me.and she tried to go out of this topics.

I think some parents do. I don't believe my parents showed favoritism though - They loved each of us for different reasons but they loved all of us unconditionally.

I answered this once then saw the other answers so want to modify mine.

A favorite child is one that makes you feel like you arn't a mess-up.Parents never like one child over another. They just prefer the way they raised one over another.
I promise..it is all about them,not you.They love you.

Yes, from personal experience living with two families, one adopted and one biological, yes they do. One will always be the favorite and will cause resentment with the others.

I think so… although I'm the only child in my family. But I do believe parents pick favorite, it’s human nature to do so.
