I am currently looking to lose 90 pounds that I gained during my 2 pregnancies in the past 2 1/2 years. I am wanting to stick to a low fat, low calorie diet that consists of a meal replacement shake of some sort for breakfast and lunch, 2 snacks(a piece of fruit or yogurt...something of that nature) and a lean cuisine type meal with a salad(no dressing) for dinner. I am also doing 45 minutes of cardio/day on top of chasing after my 21 month old son and nursing my 7 week old daughter. Any suggestions? I have tried a few different brands, such as Myoplex Light and a soy protein shake by EAS and did not care for either. I am wanting to stay away from Slim-fast due to the high sugar content. Thanks for any and all answers!

Try food. Really, food. They don't have to be high-calorie meals, but you will definately feel like you are eating. Try some whole grains and fruit for breakfast, a sensible lunch of vegetables and lean meat and low-fat dairy products.

I'm worried that you are not eating enough with that diet plan. Even with a low fat, low calorie meal plan, you need at least 1200 calories to prevent starvation mode. With those replacement shakes being near 200 calories, fruit around 50, a yogurt at 170 for the regular, and a lean cuisine at 300 - I only count 950 calories once you add a salad without dressing. Plus, it doesn't look like a well-balanced diet, and you will need more than 1200 calories if you are doing 45 minutes of cardio per day.

You are setting yourself up for two things: First, that you will not see the results you want because your body is starving. Second, that you will be prone to yo-yo because you are not taking the time to work on developing healthy eating habits that will prevent you from gaining weight once you go "off" the diet.

Stay away from gimics... just eat a sensible, well-balanced, calorie-restricted diet and the weight will come off.

Baggy clothes hide one's body and encourage lounging around. So no matter if you're relaxing at home, wear fitted clothes to help keep you on track.
