There is a lot of arrogance on both sides, quite frankly, so let's not throw any stones at our respective glass houses.
If you don't like being lumped into an "all Christians... blah blah" then don't do the same to non-believers. Not all are arrogant (though a lot are).

its some peoples way of trying to change minds. it just happens to be a very poor way of doing it, there are religious people how are self righteous. see the problem is that most people don't take the time or the effort to look at a subject with a different point of view. and people are so afraid of being wrong they accuse anyone with different views to be ignorant.

Becuse us (non-religious) dont go around bashing people for being "sinners." We are fun, happy people who only worry about having a good time and letting other people have a good time. We don't kill abortion doctors or bash gays/lesbians on TV (like televangelists do) We could care less if people practice or dont practice religion. We dont try to shove our secularism down your throats like you do with your stupid religion. We dont spend our days so worried about god and the afterlife that we can't even enjoy life. So for these and a whole bunch of other reasons, we, are waaaaaaaaaaay cooler and more sophisticated people. And by the way, we get laid (fornicate?)often and we're not even married. so there!

Religious people don't understand irreligious people, and vice-versa. It's always going to be that way. Both sides have fundamentally different understandings of the world. Both sides believe they are right. There is no debate, discussion, argument, insult, or proof that is ever going to change that.

You just feel that way because it is true, non religious people have opportunity to think for themselves.
This exercises their intelligence and enhances it - following dogma does not engage the brain.

It's pointless to argue over who is the more arrogant. Both sides clearly think they are superior in some way or another.

Considering they base most of their views on 19th century physics, it's a darn good question.
