Seriously, dont get too caught up in trying to find out whether or not he likes you. You are obviously having a great time with him, having fun joking around and stuff. But if you really want to know, you might wanna see how he his other girls that are friends. Find out more about his ex girlfriends, to see how he deals with girls. Or maybe just casually ask him if he is interested in anybody, since you guys do seem to be close friends, and a question like that shouldn't be out of the ordinary.
If anything though, don't force it, just let things flo naturally, If you guys are in the same program, obviously there is a long way to go. Just let these flow naturally, and if he ends up to like you alot, I'm pretty sure he'll make his move. Its probably useless to find out now, since a little infatuation of flirting, wouldnt make a great difference in your lovelife less. Patience is good.
good luck to you

These situations are so brutal! I know how you feel hun, I feel head over heels in love with my best friend! I would be honest with him about how you feel, just let him know that you really respect your friendship and you don't want to ruin it but you want him to know that your starting to have feelings for him as more than just a friend. Hopefully he will not freak out after hearing all this, some people can end up dating and being really happy together in my situation we ended up just staying friends and it was for the best, if we would have gone out and something bad happened, like a bad break up I would have lost him as a best friend and that would have been so horrible cause I depend on him for so much he is the rock I break myself on ya know? So in our situation us staying friends worked out for us, but I never regret letting him know how I felt cause he understood what I was going though ya know? Something falling for your best friend can be a super good thing cause your boyfriend should be your best friend, but you just have to be carefull cause I know I wouldn't want to ruin the friendship that I've already built with this guy! Good luck

i have to say Cherish the relationship and don't go any farther, you need to think of this.. if you date and then break up do you care to lose his friendship or do you want to keep things the way they are and keep him in your life for life.. dating can mess things up at this point in time in your life. just keep it the way it is give it a few more yrs and then see. plus let him make the move and then weigh it very carefully and if he does talking to him about your friendship and what it will mean if things go wrong. good luck take care

Try to approach him in a teasing way, say, for example, "You know, I fancy you" and watch for his reaction. But you have to find the right mood and place, i.e. when you are alone, just the two of you.
All the best!

Ask him in a way that will not create tension if he does not feel the same way. Create a scenario in which you ask "Do you think that could be us? If he answers truthfully you will know.

Get drunk with him and pash him. Sounds like he probably likes you.
