Have you had his kidney values checked recently? As long as they are monitored, and he's not already experiencing some type of kidney disease, I dont see a problem with using it. Like any medication, you should use the least amount possible to keep the pet comfortable. I am assuming he is on it once a day for something like arthritis. Try giving it to him once every other day and see if thats still enough to keep him comfortable, or some people only use it in the cold weather months when their pets seem to have more pain. Good luck

I don't know what that is but if my cat was that old and it makes it feel good and I was sure it wasn't for sure anything really bad for the cat I would give it at least occasionally. That is up there for a cat and depending on it's health and the quality of life it has with and without the Metacam, I would go by that. The cat can't speak but you can tell by it's actions if it's quality of life seems better. Good luck. I am an animal lover, 2 cats and a dog at the moment. Always have multiple animals in my life. I always decide on their quality of life for all my decisions. Since they can't tell me in words, I judge by their behavior and their eyes. They tell me how they are. Good luck.
