My income cannot be verified because I work for myself and I have 4 credit cards. All they care about is that you pay your bill on time every month. Stay away from the large companies such as Citbank and Chase. Try smaller ones like Tribute, Credit One, Orchard, Premier. You can apply online too.

NO where legitimate where the interest rate is going to be normal!
if you are not employed, how are you going to pay for a credit card?
You don't have to answer me but this is the question that the bank is going to want to have answered before they extend a line of credit to you?
can you blame them?
would you loan money to a friend with no known way to repay you the money back?
Of course you would not do such a thing and you KNOW this person.
The bank does not know ANYTHING about you and you expect them to loan you money?
Please crawl before you walk or run.
Get a job
then a bank account
then a credit card!

You would be rarely approved for credit card if you haven/t bank account. So at first you should open a bank account.
If you are temporary unemployment it isn't a problem. As i can understand you haven/t credit history. If i were you i would ask my parent's or closed friends (with good credit history) to be a co-signer. It is the best alternative.
Another way is to apply for secured credit card. http://www.creditorganizer.com/Secured-Credit-Cards-891843-page.php This card would be secured by your deposit account. You should deposit between 100% and 200% of credit. If you doesn't pay, credit company will take it out of your deposit.
Certainly you can apply for unsecured credit card for no credit. http://www.creditorganizer.com/Bad-No-Credit-Card-Offers-891842-page.php But it isn't good option. Credit company would rarely give you high credit limit. Besides all fees would be stricken off your limit. And fees are huge.
Brief:
open bank account
try to find co-signer
if you can't apply for secured credit card

the cards i have don't care if you have a employer. just that you have a regular verifiable source of income (like alimony or social security)
if you apply for a student card, they don't even care about that. just where you go to school and a relatives contact info
just call the customer service number of the card you want and tell them. they will have you mail or fax that proof of income in.

You should first open up a checking account. After all, how are you going to pay your bills? Many banks offer free checking (some even offer free checks on even "free" checking accounts), so it should not cost you anything except maybe the cost of a box of checks.
You should have some source of income, or else I would not even bother with putting yourself through the misery.

I would say one that would actually accept you, with no bank account or employment, those are not good signs. In addition, how were you planning on making payments to this card with no checking account or savings account?
