It seems quite clear that jesus is as a mythical as say Zeus, Pan, Nymphs and Satyrs. So what will the christian "religion" re-invent itself as next?
(if you need any further evidence that jesus is a myth, please see the movie "The God that wasn't there" on video.google.com)
Thanks for any enlightening answers

2004Ch says "I am a Christian.I do not need man made religions. All I need is my LORD and SAVIOR ,JESUS CHRIST . " i hate to break it to you... but, Chritianity IS a MAN MADE religion.
Astro says "Anything that man has written or produced in a movie studio will not change the way I feel"
Same thing ! Man wrote the bible also buddy !
One thing i do like about chritians is they provide an excellent amusment factor when they are trying to justify their insane beliefs...

Actually, most historians agree that there WAS a Jesus who was a spiritual leader, who was crucified.
The conservative Christiams believe in the Biblical account of his life.
Liberal Christians believe the Bible has mythical elements, that Jesus likely didn't walk on water, & heal the sick. Many in this liberal element don't believe Jesus was any more than a great man, like Martin Luther King and Ghandi.
I don't see why many athiests feel the need to act like he never even existed. And "What Would Jesus Do?" is a good question for all of us, whether we believe in the diety of Jesus or not.

I am curious who decided that "Now Jesus is accepted as pure myth". For centuries, people have tried to disprove his diety (some Christians have denied his humanity)... but there's never been anything definitive proving he did not exist.
And pardon me for saying... but as compelling as you may find any movie clip to be (yes, I watched it), there are just as many, if not more film documentaries - many that are played at various times on The Biography Channel or the National Geographic Channel... even the History Channel - that have just as compelling arguments for the existence of Jesus. The documentaries have just as many experts (Archeologists, historians and so forth).
So, it does not seem "quite clear that Jesus is" ... mythical at all... at best it seems clear that there are those who want to make it appear that way... I wouldn't presume to debate their motives... the only thing that IS perfectly clear is that people who chose not to believe in Jesus will take this clip as justification for their refusal to believe... and that's fine...
If I'm wrong... then none of us are any worse off than we are now... if I'm right however... the fact that unbelief was supported by video documentation of respected experts will not be a good excuse on Judgement Day.
Incidentally... I did notice something horribly in Mr. Robert Price's analysis ... particularly in regard to the release of Barrabas and the resulting execution of Jesus... History does record that once a year Roman governors were permitted to release convicted criminals in their province. So it is NOT so impossible to see how Barrabas could have been released and Jesus executed... perhaps certain experts should check their facts

He is not a myth. Jesus is the son of God who came down to this earth to save us from sin. I don't care what the contemporary world says. They could say the sky was purple and some would belive what they say. God is the one thing that is stable and always true. Only those lacking faith in the Lord would change their belives and daily life to match the new idea. Some might go to judism, still waiting for the messiah.
But to me, Jesus lives and reigns and forever will. No matter what anyone says or what evidence man may come up with. God Rocks and will reign till the end of time and till the end of infinity. God bless America.

Unlike the mythical creatures you mention, Christ actually existed and the historical Jesus is well documented.
See http://www.carm.org/bible/extrabiblical_accounts.htm for more information.
Many have NO issue with quoting from other journals, books, etc., yet when quotes from the bible appear the piling on by the flippant begins. Yet, why is it one would more readily believe something quoted from Homer's Iliad than from the bible?
Most do not realize the biblical texts have been better preserved from their original languages than any other writings known to mankind.
An excellent discussion of the reliability of the bible as a source can be found at:

Christianity is the same and will always be the same forever and forever.God is the beginning and the end, same as he was when he created us.The question is who will go where he is and who will not.I am not concerned with the past but the future.Christianity is the only religion that promises a future with God.Anything that man has written or produced in a movie studio will not change the way I feel.God Bless You!!

if it was ever proven, which it hasn't been, the christians have shown in the past that their religion is quite flexible, very hard to nail (no pun intended). A lot of things have been discovered since the days of the bible and nothing has delivered the fatal blow yet so i imagine very few things ever could. Aliens could arrive tomorrow and actually admit they were behind it all and there would still be people saying it was Satan trying to trick them.

What people have forgotten is the truth of themselves in Myths. A myth if understood correctly can bring a person very close to enlightenment. This is what needs to be taught, instead of some kind of history lesson.

Jesus is more real than you and just because you cannot see him does not mean he is not there. Satan has certainly got your mind. We are all sinners are we not? Even if you have stollen just something small in your life, it makes you a lier, and even if you have hated somebody, it is murder in the sight of God, so we have all broken God's law. We ALL COME SHORT. Jesus died so we could be forgiven by the Father, and have eternal life. I have experienced Jesus in visions and dreams. And just to let you know, Jesus is more real than anything in this dull world. How are you going to feel on Jugement day when Jesus turns around to you if you have not exepted him and says to you, Depart from me, I never knew you, you worker of iniquity. Away to the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. Unless you have the Holy spirit you do not belong to Jesus or the Father, instead you belong to Satan. Thank goodness I am not on the losing side anymore. I have come over from darkness to light. If you doe without Christ, you will end up in Hell, and you do not want go there trust me. If you do not believe in hell now, you will. you cannot get in Heaven without Jesus. And Jesus decieds who he lets in and who he doesn't. Jesus has the keys of Heaven and Hell, and if I were you, I would except Jesus into my life, otherwise you will perish.

My "so-referred to as 'christian'" faith grew to become into created via Christ, and -- no -- accepting evolution isn't a topic for us Orthodox Christians. in reality, the regularly occurring public of Christians settle for evolution as an part of God's plan.

I don't think it matters at all. He is just as valid (as are Zues etc.) as a physicaly real (which I think he MAY have been) figure who was later mythologised as he would as a completly made up figure. It's what he represents that counts. If you read the works of Tom Harpur you will understand what I mean.
BTW. There is NO contemporary evidence fot Jesus historical reality!!! NONE! and anyone who says otherwise is either deluded, ignorant, being conned or liars. I CHOOSE to believe he was real! But I don't KNOW he was. I challenge anyone to get me a link to an ACCEPTED source that prooves otherwise! Josephus is MUCH later!
