I went to a gastroentreologist this week and asked the same thing. Heartburn you probably know, indigestion apparently feels like a meal that sits there for a long time.

I have been plagued with heartburn, leaky gut, constipation, reflux esophagitis and dyspepsia for years and nothing conventional medicine has offered really helped, at least not in the long run. By following only the first step in this book.

I was prescribed Lansoprazole which was brilliant but after two years of aching joints, extreme muscle pain which the doc gave me cortisone jags for, with some research I discovered the drug Lansoprazole was causing these rare side effects but it was I who diagnosed it NOT my doctor, I came off the drug 2 months ago, changed my diet and discovered just eating an apple stops any acid reflux, I eat an apple before bed, brilliant no acid, any time I feel the slightest sign of reflux I simply eat an apple.

Apple juice is not that good nor is anything else I have tried including honey at stopping reflux.

I have been a reflux sufferer for years and hardly did I know that acid reflux could eventually lead to cancer of the esophagus.

I think heartburn is more specifically a burning sensation.... indigestion is more of a fullness, like it says lack of digestion or slow digestion.

Heartburn is acid reflux. Indigestion is stomach upset (dyspepsia). The two are closely intertwined and often go together.
