Whats the story with vista and my cd drive?

Question

Its driving me nuts,i might as well have no cddrive.

I've got the odd cd to work but most of the time it cant recognise that i've inserted a cd,
When i check for problems it tells me everything is ok.

Any help is appreciated.

If, it worked before Vista then most likely it is Vista and not your CD Drive. Go to the Drive manufacture web-site and look for drivers that make it work with Vista, or, they may have a simple fix to follow.
IF, you would tell something of the Drive; Make and Model people may be able to help more.
