I am curious.
God seems so unfathomable. I think--can he/she/it be God?
Can I be God?
I have no idea (I don't think I'm God--but it seems just as likely as anything else.)
I see these people, they think this white reindeer is God.
I think, possible.
I only want to know what God is.
How do you know? Is God something distant? Invisible?
If something exists, it must have mass, it must have some form, it seems.
What form is God?
Without a form, I don't know what to believe.
If I should believe.
It is ridiculous.
I am sitting here. This chair could be God for all I know.
How do you define God? If you were in God's presence, how would you know it was God?
I am just really confused.
About a lot of things.

What is God's form? Jesus is God. That's a form. He can help you believe. Get to know Him. He is everyone's best friend. He died for you and for me and for everyone else. He wants to help you come home with Him to our true home heaven. He is the Word of God made Flesh so You can know Him by reading the bible. God is a Person. He is the Creator of the universe and everything in it. God is everywhere but not everything is God. God lives in everyone but not everyone is God. God is perfect. He is all good, all wise, all knowing, all beautiful, all merciful, all just, etc. There is no evil in God. The chair can't be God because God is all powerful. God is infinite. We can't be God we are limited. If you speak to God in your heart, He will answer you and make Himself known to you. He will keep you company. He will answer all your questions about Him. Ask and you will receive, seek and you shall find, knock and it shall be opened up to you. Good luck and God bless you and make you happy always.

I second Crazy I's answer. Good recommendation if you want a very formal, complex case for atheism — there is a lengthy discussion near the beginning on what exactly God might be, and all the answers that have been proposed.

At the root of things, "God" is a word, a sound. God is defined differently by every religion, culture, and person in the world.

If you wanted me to pick my supreme experience as my "God", it would be Beethoven's Ninth Symphony.

All I can tell you to help you out is not to accept anyone else's idea of God just because they say so. I'm sure you'll get (or already have) several responses telling you to read the Bible. Realize that if you're told to read the Bible, you might as well also read the Qur'an, the Baghavad Ghita, perhaps some Buddhist writings as well. Also realize that most holy texts claim to be the only true holy text. If you want to pick one and be damned by the others, that's your call. If you're looking for more open and accepting path to truth, perhaps you could explore more Eastern ideas of spirituality, meditation is an incredible experience. I can personally recommend the Tao Te Ching — I am absolutely nonreligious, and that text offers plentiful down-to-earth advice on spirituality without throwing rules in your face.

Just keep in mind, when the answers you get from outside don't satisfy you, you can always look inside. Don't read about it, don't talk about it, just sit and breathe and notice things.

I did a lot of research into Near Death Experiences for a project and got a general consensus form many of the experiencer's stories. This quote from one kinda summed up what they were saying.

God is "that which cannot be transcended"
But he is a being, alive, and loves infinitely.

In other words, you are trying to figure out something which can't be figured out. You will just keep going in circles and get nowhere if you try assign God a description.

Our brains operate in 3-D space-time physical reality. God is infinetely beyond that. He is existence, non-existence, everything in between, and everything we have never even thought of. Don't worry about it, you'll fry your brain. Just believe. Read up on NDEs if you want to get a better idea of what I am getting at.

If you are a true Bible reader than must now about GOD
He is the one who created the whole world with his own had, therefore he cannot have a physical existence, as far I know, it is written in the book of John, chapter 1 and his verse 1 says that-"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with GOD,and the Word was GOD", so GOD doesn't have a physical existence. I would like to generate your faith in GOD because, i have feel his presence, India as you know is country of superstitions, black magics, and many kind of ill practices, in our church many cases came like, a person under depression came inside, and went rejoicing. a person disturbed by an evil spirit got relief and there are many such cases, which make my faith stronger in GOD. We can feel God's presence, when we are alone and all lost, when there seems no way he come up and give us peace. By this reply you should start believing GOD, but what it happens you just ignore it, but i like to tell you, if you really want to get close to GOD, just pray him and ask him to help you in getting close, and i am sure he will help you, if you have any problem tell him, as you tell to your father, he is our heavenly father, he loves everyone, weather they believe in GOD or not, he loves you too. Praise The LORD.

There are basically two ways to learn about God: (1) you can have your own experiences, and (2) you can believe the testimony of those who have had experiences. The scriptures are full of testimony of prophets who intimately know God and wrote about Him. You can also pray to God and ask Him to teach you through His Spirit. It's that simple.

God is a being and He looks a lot like a person, but He is perfect and glorious. He is our Father in Heaven. You would recognize Him by the incredible amount of light coming from Him.

The prophet Joseph Smith actually saw God the Father and Jesus Christ and described his experience. Learn more here:

I understand your confusion. There is an interesting verse in the bible that "God is not the author of confusion". Interestingly enough, you can find out more about the nature of God that you might think. It is done through studying the person of Jesus Christ. One of Jesus' disciples said to Him, "Lord, show us the Father". Jesus replied, "if you have seen me, you have seen the Father".

If you truly want answers to your questions, they are right there waiting for you. In a book that has probably been in your house all your life, the bible. Open it, take some time. Read Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. Listen to what Jesus said, watch how we acts, what He teaches. You will find the character of God demonstrated in Him.

May God bless you and guide you and reveal His truth to you.

definitely!!! It replace into something greater formal, yet I used to talk to Him besides the fact that the reason and because I stored forward to my own ambition and desires, while He gave me avertisements I saved none and did my way going into further and further trubles! Into an end, interior a deep depresion, He saved my existence (!!!) the very 2nd I left away of all my deep desires... There, empty heart, i replace into packed with God's easy and Peace and Love - an entire New existence, a sparkling physique, a sparkling imaginative and prescient over the final and the destiny :) :) :) confident, he's my Saviour!!!

i had to find a god i could believe in once...as an addict 'that' was a prerequisite..religions ideology just made me doubt him the more, so ..after much consideration, i concluded from all the literature's i read, [bibel included], that
god is Life as life's' spiritual force...as well as 'life' being God and all life is Representative of that 'spiritual' godliness.
That tells me 'life' is sacred,.. all life,... and that each life is like a pigment , in a paint,..that is a color,..in a portrait,..of the face of
god,..and we are part of Him,..as is all else there is that is of a spiritual nature.
In other words 'Life' is god,..and God is life, .. and Life will find a way...i found i could believe a great many 'religions' with this 'concept'... they became a bit more sensible to me.
Of cause, i seldom am in company who welcome a discussion with me on religious matters,...but i am content with my ideology now. ... and still sober, clean, and recovering..so i am happy for investing the consideration in that essential step.

What isn't God? Have you seen God in the flower? How about the sunset? God is in all things and all things are in God. Where does the power come from that you give to things? The power comes from within you. God is within you. God is the I AM THAT I AM. Isn't this your most basic awareness? Stay with this and you will know God. You will no longer need words, you will "know" the "truth" and the "truth" will set you free.
