I've downloaded my .iso file from Azureus. (Which happens to be Rollercoaster Tycoon 2) In the instructions, it says that I need to mount "rct2.iso" using Alcohol 120%, then place "rct2.exe" in the installation directory. What exactly do these mean and how do I do them?

If you have nero 7, you can mount .iso file using it.

Alcohol is a program that creates and hangles images. The iso format is an image format. Images are what you find on CDs or DVDs. They are not pictures. What you can do is use a program like nero (which is burning software) or alcohol to burn the iso onto a cd and then, like most games, install from that just burned cd. Alcohol also has the ability to create a virtual (fake) drive. When you mount an image, you are telling the computer to open the iso as if it were a cd using a fake dvd/cd drive. in effect, this is the same as burning the image and then putting it into a drive for installation.

The second part of the instructions seems to be about cracking the game. They are telling you to replace the main executable of the game. Someone on the iso (once you mount it), there is a file by that name. you are suppose to copy it and put it into the main direct of the game after you installed it. this supposedly will remove all protection the game once had and allow you to use it for free.

You don't HAVE to use Alcohol 120%....there are several programs out there that can mount disc images. I happen to use Daemon Tools.

Anyways....your program (A120% for example) should have an option in the main pulldown menus that says something like (Mount Disk Image, Mount ISO, Mount ISO/BIN, or something similar) Point it to the .ISO file, and you should now have a drive show up on your file browser (or withing the program) that functions EXACTLY as if you had a CD/DVD inside of a disc drive and your computer was reading it. This means that you can run programs from it, copy files from it, but NOT drop files to it.

The .ISO file is an image of a CD/DVD, so it functions just like one.

Hope that helps.

Use a program that burns ISO files to a cd to burn it, then after installed, go to the folder where u installed it and find the rct2.exe file and replace it with the one they tell u to replace it with.

i take advantage of potential ISO, that is highly trouble-free to apply. you basically actual click on the iso, then bypass to potential ISO >> Set type of drives. Then opt for what number digital CD roms you may have. For simplicity sake, you opt for one. then you quite actual click again on the iso >> potential ISO >> Mount>> Then it will allow you to understand to make certain on acontinual. because you've set one electroniccontinual, you'll in trouble-free terms have one decision to make certain on from. believe me it is a lot a lot less complicated once you easily do it.

use daemon tools, you can download it off of www.download.com I've used it in the past and find mounting it in there seems easier to me... You just need the ISO image and mount it to there.
