Company engineers high-end consumer electronics. Need a good promo item/client gift that represents exclusive, total package engineering services. Trying to keep the price to about $50 each. I really need something innovative and new--no keychains, pens or calendars. Something totally eye-catching or memorable, but not cheap or cheesy.

Struggling! Help!

My company has a process in mind that if we can send a follow-up gift to prospective clients, then we have a reason to call them and touch base. The domino effect would be that our gift is striking or memorable enough, then those prospective clients would be more willing to meet with us. Once we're in the door, our services sell themselves--it's that getting in the door part that's difficult.

There are several high-end quality gifts you can get for under $50 and "yes" promo items do work & they work very well.

An engineering firm - I would recommend a nice flash/usb drive or other items.

I recommend you check out the site below and get an idea of what's available.

My company has just done I-Pod shuffles - you should be able to get them for $50 if you order a whole bunch. (Unless they are competitive with any of your product, obviously)

Swiss Army knives (total package) or, even cheaper (around $20 for bulk order) The Swiss Card - credit card size with letter opener, scissors, pin, nail file, screw driver, tweezers, tooth pick, pen, ruler etc - I got one of these and was delighted- I carry it with me.

1 GB Memory sticks

Roll-up flexible computer keyboard (VERY cool)

Cell phone chargers (3 hour emergency charge - I thank the company that gave me this about twice a week)

Hope that helped some :-)

BTW - carefully executed promotional gift campaigns work extremely well. They are exceptionally successful in this particular (foot in the door objective) instance.

"Need a good promo item/client gift that represents exclusive, total package engineering services."

(why?????)

Can you give me a single example in business history where a gift promo worked? Does giving someone a present suddenly urge them to buy you one? (hardly...complete waste of good marketing money)
