What would you call a person that can learn a language solely from watching a movie or t.v. show? Would this person be considered a genius or what other term might be suitable for such a skill?

I learned German watching German TV channels when I was a kid...At the beginning I was always asking my father what the story was about...then I was asking less and less...It depends on whether or not you have a talent for learning languages.

Unusual. We don't usually learn language unless we are able to connect the meaning with the things we are hearing. With only TV or movies, this is difficult.

Little kids do not learn only from the TV. In cases we're aware of (such as hearing children of deaf parents) interaction is apparently important for language acquisition.

thats not really a special talent. lots of people learn language through tv shows an or movies. Little kids often learn to speak from TV its a sad reality of the world we are living in that kids only get human interaction from a TV set.
