It may not be dandruff. It may be product buildup. Try buying a cleansing shampoo like Back to Basics. Use that once or twice a week in addition to a salon brand shampoo (something other than head and shoulders). It's a little more costly, but the effect isn't nearly as bad. Remember it's not going to miraculously fix itself over night, it'll take some time. But dont wash your hair everyday. Wash it every other day. If you wash it too often, you'll strip your hair of its necessary oils and it'll start producing even more and it'll overcompensate, making your hair oily. Try using the shampoo. Hope all works out for you

Try dandruff shampoos with different active ingredients... Neutrogena T/Gel works well for my husband.
And this may be difficult, but keep your shower temperatures cold because hot water can irritate and dry out the skin even more!
Vitamin B6 has been shown to help get rid of dandruff, so look into getting a supplement.
If none of that seems to be working after a little time, come back and ask again and see what else we can come up with :)

1. Higher quality food. Foods like Purina and Iams tend to give a dog poor coat quality. Feed her something like Innova EVO, Orijens, Wellness, Artemis, etc. 2. You can buy liquid fish oil supplements at the pet store, put some in her food every day. (Or feed her some raw salmon every day.) Also, put a raw egg in her food 3x per week. Both are excellent for the skin. 3. Good shampoos to try: Tea Tree Oil, Oatmeal, Coal Tar, Benzoil Peroxide, Salicylic Acid. Follow up with a good soak in a heavy moisturizing conditioner. Towel dry. If you must use a blow dryer use it only on the cool setting. You can follow up with an oatmeal or mink oil spray-on conditioner. None of that will help if you don't address her diet issues first however; a good skin and coat starts from the inside. Good luck!

Do you leave it sit in your hair for awhile? I saw an article in a magazine where they tested different products and the best results where after you left the product on for like 5 minutes.
Here are some different products too.
Head & Shoulders anti-dandruff shampoo containing active ingredient Zinc pyrithione.
Nizoral Shampoo anti-fungal/anti-dandruff shampoo containing active ingredient Ketoconazole.
Selsun Blue anti-dandruff shampoo containing active ingredient Selenium sulfide.
The antifungal properties of Tea Tree Oil (Melaleuca Oil) have been reported as useful in the treatment of dandruff.
Severe forms of flaking if accompanied by flaking or scaling on other parts of the body, might best be treated by a dermatologist.
Washing hair with rubbing alcohol gets rid of the dandruff and leaves hair feeling soft and clean.
Tar conaining shampoos are also used for treatent of dandruff.

Try Desenex or Neutrogena T-Gel. Wet your hair, massage one of the shampoos into your hair and scalp real well and let it sit for about 3 to 5 minutes. Massage your scalp again and then rinse really, really well. Sometimes, part of the problem with dandruff is that people do not rinse their hair long enough. Use the above shampoos everytime you shampoo. If these do not work, then I would suggest that you go to a dermatologist and ask them what you can do.

Tea Tree Shampoo will help with the dandruff! You can find this at most salons it is made by paul mitchell. Also I would recomend a scalp treatment any thing that would stimulate the scalp. You can also do a at home treatment where you would use cooking oil and rub it on the scalp and then wash it out I will work great!!!
Hope that I helped

The shampoo that I used for a short time, is Nutragena T-Gel It is very good at helping to get rid of dandruff! Of course if that doesn't work, you may wish to consult with your doctor and/or a dermatologist to help ascertain the cause. I hope that this helps you! Good luck, and take care! Later!

As others have said, definitely try Neutrogena T/gel if you haven't already. I used to get dry scalp during the winter and that stuff worked really well for me. Unfortunately, it doesn't smell too great so you might want to use another better smelling shampoo or conditioner to mask the scent. Also, you might not even need to use it every day.

You should see a doctor. It may be only dandruff (they can give you a stronger dandruff shampoo) but it may be something else. Be sure before you try something that can make the condition worse.
