I have naturally medium to light blonde hair, but have made it a champagne platinum. It looks great, and I like it a lot, but I don't like the cost of getting the roots done every 4-5 weeks or the look of the regrowth. I also want a change, I'm thinking a nice chocolate brown with caramel highlights. I have blue eyes. Opinions please!

I did the same thing (and for the same reason). I'd definitely advise going to your stylist to have the overall color done, though. If you don't use the right color and the right level of color, your blonde hair can end up too ash-y or have a hint of greenish color to it.

It sounds like the color would look great on you. Plus, brown is TOTALLY in right now! :-)

Good luck.

That would look GORGEOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I say that because I have personal experience with choclate brown hair with caramel and golden highlights w/ blue eyes. I would try to find a at home color kit with the color you want so you can touch up your roots yourself because that gets so costly. Highlights are pretty much fool-proof as long as you 1-2 shades lighter/darker than your natural hair color. Hope this helps and good luck!

Hello,

I agree with the person who suggested lowlights. I just had a BAD home experience color job, and trust me you don't want to mess around with going back to blond when you're tired of the brown. If you really want to do it, go see a pro. Make sure that the brown isn't too dark for your skin tone. Even with brown you'll hate the roots (your hair won't look any better with too light roots than too-dark roots).

Oh and natural match sucks... i used it several months ago... it made my hair too dark, i had to go to a pro to lighten it.

Its REALLY hard to go back from a dyed blonde. It almost always ends up looking brassy and dried out. If you like the color you have, keep it. Just go for some lowlights. This will allow you to go longer in between touch ups and will give you the change you're looking for.
