Spybot - Search & Destroy detects and removes spyware, a relatively new kind of threat not yet covered by common anti-virus applications. Spyware silently tracks your surfing behaviour to create a marketing profile for you that is transmitted without your knowledge to the compilers and sold to advertising companies. If you see new toolbars in your Internet Explorer that you haven't intentionally installed, if your browser crashes inexplicably, or if your home page has been "hijacked" (or changed without your knowledge), your computer is most probably infected with spyware. Even if you don't see the symptoms, your computer may be infected, because more and more spyware is emerging. Spybot-S&D is free, so there's no harm giving it a try to see if something has invaded your computer.

Oh those wicked registry scan sites. I hate those. First Start-Control Panel-Add and Remove programs and remove all those irratating RegCleaners...if you don't buy it they will nag you to death. Then run your Adware SE Personal Edition www.lavasoft.com Spy ware..good free one is Spy Bot S&D www.download.com/Spybot-Search-Destroy/3000-8022_4-10289035.html. Go to your favorite search engine I like www.ask.com and put in free popup blocker in the search engine and pick one out...I've used Stop the Pop and Yahoo's. Remember to update all of them before running and then reboot to clear the RAM among other things and should be gold. Then stop going to those sites. They've only messed me and my customers up every time. A easy to understand trouble shooting site for most problems is http://www.webhazard.com/ Beware though those "sponsered sites" are saying free but well...you know better now, right?

There are at least 3 different infections that cause those phony spyware ads. All have different cures. Does it perhaps advertise "Raze Antispyware"? Are they full pop-ups or a small balloon coming from your from down by the clock? Do the popups say "Messenger Service" any where on the title bar? What is the product it is trying to sell you? Please edit your question with more information.
