First off if you installed Windows XP you have to go though the 30 day thing and regestr xp within 30 days or it shuts down. If you done so, then you no long have a Non-Genuine. My copy is Genuine and once before I had a problem updating and I E-mailed Microsoft support and they give me a list of stuff too do and volllaaa. Genuine again. By the way if you are useing a Non-genuine copy you still have to do the 30 days thingy so they know if you have genuine or not. So sometime it is the Genuine software that downloads to your computer that makes microsoft think it's not Genuine anymore and then you can't do updates. Genuine or Non-Genuine it's the same just can't do updates with Non-Genuine

non genuine microsoft windows means that you didnt pay microsoft for your windows and that it isn't a registered product puchased from them.when they sell thier sofware it comes with a product serial number unique to that single product and registered to your own unique computor serial number.Non genuine means it is a genuine windows product but copied from another source and pirated by the user .They consider it piracy and counterfiet. They have a log called appcompat.txt that comes when you try to install microsoft products that wont let you install
any of thier merchandise after they find ou that you have stolen
property of thiers"thier window system" and it is against the law
but lots of people would rather copy someone
windows xp ,windows me,windows 98,windows 2000,...etc
instead of paying thier outlandish prices. It works fine till you delete a needed font or driver or need some software.then they check your system for application compatibility by using the above "appcompat.text" to see if you are the registered owner of thier windows and if not you dont get no productss from them till you buy thier windows and they validate it also some programs will not run once they find out.

thoroughly uninstall MSE utilising some thing like Revo Uninstaller or Ccleaner. Then run Ccleaner to freshen up non everlasting documents and different garbage on your equipment. Reboot and attempt the set up again.
