its called a hump. its kinda like a french roll hump without the french roll!!! LOL I take it that you are talking about the hairstyle where theres a pump up in the front with the back in either a ponytail or pinned up somehow.
A bun is a doughnut shaped ball in the BACK of the head.

It's called a PUMP! 1. Separate your hair into two sections! 2. Put back section in tight pony tail! 3. Curl front section w/ large barreled iron! 4. Under brush into place and wrap around ponytail to hide rubber band. Or for a longer last spray with spritz or holding spray and comb into place w/ a no.9 comb and secure w/ hair pins!
