Actually, there is something that you can give your cats that help people with cat allergies. We use Ace Allergy Drops... which is essentially an acepromazine "concoction" that you give your cats on a daily basis.
You can also have your boyfriend go to an allergist for allergy shots. I had the unfortunate circumstance where I was diagnosed with cat allergies when I was halfway through my veterinary technician program (yikes!). I take allergy medicine (Zyrtec) and Benadryl, and I'm able to handle the cats at work with minimal problems, although I'm not HIGHLY allergic to cats.
Talk to your veterinarian for advice, and give an allergist a call for your boyfriend.
Good luck, and I hope that your kitties and boyfriend can co-exist!

I would have said the exact same thing as Magpie if she hadn't said it first. People claiming to be allergic to cats usually aren't. Many people are controlling and jealous of the attention animals get. I've had many boyfriends whine about hte cats...I don't put up with it for long.
If you love your cats that much, you really shouldn't be dating guys that get in the way of that.
However, you do say that he doesn't want you to get rid of them either, so he really has to try it out, see how it goes, see an immunologist/allergy speciailist for help to cope with them if he really is allergic, but don't let him give up his place in between til he's sure you can live together. What does the allergic reaction consist of? Just sniffles, if so, that won't kill him.
If he really can't live with you, keep dating, and see how it goes, but don't get rid of hte kitties. A cat's love is forever, most people have many many boyfriends, no matter how good their intentions with the relationship.
Imagine how devastated you'd be if you got rid of htem and you broke up one day in the future. You took them into your home, and pet ownerhsip is a lifetime commitment.

1st of all why on earth would you get a boyfriend that is allergic to cats if u own 3? Don't get rid of the cats, they have no choice in anything you have made all the decisions including making them family. Many times men who do not like cats pretend to be allergic and they are being passive-aggressive, it is a sneaky way of making it seem like they're not against them, just allergic. I have seen this happen with my own significant other and my friends, it would really be a shame to do this to poor animals who don't get any say and maybe you'll break up after a year or too and you have gone and dumped the poor cats. Please don't be such a rat!!

Keep the place ventilated well. People with cat allergies will become accustom to the pet dander. Get him some over the counter allergy medication at first. Keep the cats in one room for most of the day, then for a few minutes let them in with you. Slowly let them out of their room more and more until he is used to them. Even when he is used to your cats he won't be able to pet them or play with them much. Vacuum one to two times a week to pick up dander. Brush your cats to take of excess hair. It should reduce shedding. Your BF should be able to get of the allergy medication almost completely if not all together. I hope it works out!!

He would not would desire to take Benedryl. There are prescription meds that are no longer drowsy, and he purely has to take them while he desires to. My daughter married a guy it fairly is critically allergic. So is his mom. Their cat isn't allowed of their mattress room, they vacuum oftentimes and characteristic an air purifier. With those few ameliorations he infrequently ever has to take the hypersensitivity drugs. while his mom comes over to circulate to she takes drugs earlier she arrives and there is no subject. definitely everyone seems to be residing fortuitously perpetually after. If I have been you, by no potential do away with the cat. If the boyfriend incredibly loves you, then he will see the few minor differences are nicely worth making you happy.
