My best friend and I want to get friendship tattoos... I've read some of the other posts, but didn't really find what I was looking for... Anyways... we want something that would symbolize connection, like puzzle pieces, or a lock and key... Does anyone out there have any suggestions?

my best friend and i did get tattoos together. She got a star on her foot, and on the same spot on mine, i got a shamrock. both things are something that we love and we decided to get them together. do something that you wont regret. nothing big or too dramatic. but, everyday i look at mine and think about that night and how awesome it is to have someone like her in my life...

I would suggest going into a shop and sitting down with the artist. Describe what you want, any ideas and have him draw up a custom piece. Give him a couple of ideas and choose the best one. Custom is always the way to go.
P.S. If you are going get matching tattoos with a friend, Please make it special because I am sure that your friendship is special to you, get a custom piece done. Anyone could pick out a piece of flash art. That way you know that the two of you are the only one with that tattoo and it will be all the more special to you.

I'll get my don't list over first. DON'T get names or words like "friends forever" or "best friends." There are no guarantee's that people will stay in your life. On that note, DON'T get a split item like a heart or a yin yang where you will each have a half of it. It's the same deal. What you can do is get matching tattoos. Or get the same tattoo but in different colors. Get something that symbolizes the two of you. Something that you both like or an experience you had together. If you met at a killer St. Patrick's day party, get shamrocks. If you have a favorite cartoon or comic, get two friends in said comic tattooed. With that, you can each have one of the friends. Snoopy & Woodstock, Ren & Stimpy, etc. Think of phrases that symbolize two's---two peas in a pod or something like that---and get a tattoo of that.

Think of a really fond meomry of you two or a couple and talk to a tattoo arist and have him dra something up like for me I always thought it would be cool if me and my best friend got bubble gum tat because the first time we ever hung out I bought her ten pounds of candy and hid the gum at the bottom :) Its a goofy meomry I'll always cherish and if I did get a tat of that I'd smile and think of her everytime.

How about something like a lockett broken in two and when you put the 2 together, they fit perfectly and say something like, "Best Friends Forever" or BFF.

Yin and Yang. Yin(or Yang) in your favorite color and Yang(or Yin) in your friends favorite color. I think that would be kool cuz best friends seem to balance each other out, well at least mine keeps me balanced.

you could each get the chinese symbol for friendship, and maybe split the symbol between the two of you.
