Well Son,
The egg has the POTENTIAL to become a chick. But nowadays, most eggs remain unfertilized. Remember high school biology? Most chickens are not allowed to run around with Roosters, and vice versa. The Only way for an egg to become a chick is through a little Bird-Action. Or a science intervention. Oh, and the blood that occasionally shows up in an egg has more to do with the Hen, I believe when the egg is forming she may burst a capillary. Nothing serious, we do this every time we rub our eyes red-eyes.. Eat and Be Well!

Actually an unfertilized egg could never become a chick, so as long as there is no rooster present then the egg is not a chick in the making.

In answer to your question, I have no problem with eggs as long as there isn't a embryo present. If I happen to get one with an embryo (only possible if purchased from a local farmer) then breakfast is ruined for me. YUCK!!

Nope, an egg is only a chick in the making if the egg has been fertilized. The environment that our eggs are produced in is so controlled there is no way that could happen. So crack one open and just enjoy.

No, since they are not fertilized. If they were, I might think differently! Yes, eggs are good!
